Odd Shaped Closet
This was a fun challenge. This closet was on the backside of a rounded staircase. It had one flat wall with not much depth and then a rounded wall that was underutilized. The client had a pile of stuff (i.e. Gift wrapping, decorating items, miscellaneous) that was difficult to access.
The solution…(drum roll)…vertical space and individual hooks to utilize the rounded wall.
By using skinning shelving we were able to sort out all the items to make them easier to locate. The hooks provided a cheap and simple solution for storing gift bags. You can’t see the entire picture but above the gift bags are hooks for seasonal wreaths that were also taking up valuable space.
When looking for extra space…always look up!
Shelf Dividers – Love them!
Do you have problems with clothes toppling over because there are too many items stacked up? Use shelf dividers. They are inexpensive and so effective. This allows you to stack clothes 4-5 high while not wasting any vertical space.
They can also be used in the pantry for stacking cans, etc. Target, Fred Meyers and lots of other stores carry them.
Here is an example of a closet I just organized…
