Stop Running Around
How efficiently is your kitchen set up? Laundry room?
Can you stand in one place while completing tasks that are done on a daily basis? If not, it may be worth your time to think about setting up “work stations” for things that you do frequently. You should be able to reach for all items required for that activity without running around.
For example, when packing lunches for your kids or yourself do you have the food, baggies, lunch boxes right next to the refrigerator so you can load everything up in one shot without moving? Do you keep your baggies over with your tin foil even though you need the tinfoil by the oven and the baggies where you pack lunches?
Test yourself and see if you can do a frequent activity without moving around. If not, don’t be afraid to rethink your space. Good luck!!
Radio Interview
I was interviewed recently by the Real Ladies of Lane County. They have a radio program on Friday afternoons from 4-5 on 1320 AM. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was getting into and when they started the program talking about “which stall in the bathroom you would choose” I knew I was really in trouble!
But actually it turned out to be a great interview. They were prepared with solid questions that many potential clients ask. It’s a mystery to many people exactly “what” I do and “how” I do it. For many that struggle with de-cluttering/organizing it’s unclear how someone else could actually do that for them…and better yet do it in a way that it would stay organized! We covered everything from a typical client to hoarders. New filing systems to total home reorganization.
So if you would like a better understanding of what a professional organizer does…take a few minutes and listen. The first 17 minutes will be the zany banter of the Ladies of Lane County then the interview will start.
