I often get asked about organizing products that I really like. In the past couple months I found a garage shelving unit I highly recommend. In fact, I have purchased and built it for 2 different clients in efforts to help them with their organizing needs.

The shelving product is called Heavy Duty “Jumbo” Industrial 5 Shelf and is made by Dateline Products, LLC. It can be assembled as a storage rack or workbench. (This just depends on how you assemble it.) The model number is 2400/2500. I was able to find this product at Jerry’s in Eugene, Oregon.

There are several reasons I recommend this storage shelving over others. Here are a few:

• The product says “easy to assemble” and it truly isn’t too bad! It does require two people and even three at times could be helpful, but not necessary.

• There are not any special tools required to assemble the unit, though I found a hammer has come in handy to help secure the shelves into place.

• When building the unit, you can adjust the shelves to fit your needs. I do however recommend thinking this through a little before you get started as I think the unit is easier to build than take apart once you’ve hammered the shelves into place!

• One of the biggest advantages I found with this unit versus others is that the shelves fit flush with the structure. You don’t have to lift and then slide your storage bins or other things off the shelves, they can just be easily pulled forward to access.

• And finally, the unit is advertised as “heavy duty” and I too feel it is study when built, even 5 shelves high!
