If this sounds like you, then there is a new app and service that just might fit perfectly into your life. With FindThingsFast, you take pictures of your stuff and then name and tag the picture, along with where it’s supposed to go. Then, when you want to find something, you just search for it in your own database and you’ll see where it is.
One really neat thing with this service is that you can create “grab lists” for certain events. Let’s say your family is going to the beach tomorrow. To make sure you have everything (e.g. beach chairs, water wings, etc.), you just pull up your grab list and everything, along with its storage location, is there to remind you what to take.
Also, to find out where things are, you can create storage locations (e.g. basement, garage, hall closet, etc.) and then within those storage locations, you can create containers where your stuff is. For example, if your child’s baseball glove is in a green plastic container in your attic, when you search for it with FindThingsFast, you would immediately see that it is in the attic tucked away inside of a green container.
If this organizational system sounds like something down your alley, you can give it a try for free for up to 150 items. However, if you want to add anything more, you’ll have to spring for the paid subscription service, which runs $39 a year. If it keeps you organized and less stressed out, it’s a very small price to pay. Give it a shot!
